Why you should consider wellness in the workplace

October 23, 2017

There are so many reasons why employee wellness is vital: everyone will be sick from time to time, but are you doing as much as you can to try and reduce this in your business?

It won’t be a shock to hear that if your staff are looking after themselves and are fit and healthy, they will be sick less and in work more. Not only that, when they are in work they will be far more productive: mood, focus and memory will all be significantly better.

Exercise is like medicine; if people are fit and healthy, they will be happy, and that will show in the work they produce. They will be less stressed and will be bringing their best selves to work far more often than not.

The bottom line is: a healthy workforce is a happy workforce. This will lead to a successful business; costs will be saved and productivity will increase.

There are many options when it comes to employee wellness programmes, but you need to choose the right one for your business. It needs to be a programme that will appeal to the staff and one which they will use. Some programmes will offer a discounted membership at a nearby gym, but you can’t be sure that people have attended and are getting the most out of it, if using it at all.

If your business is paying a fee, but it’s either not getting used or getting results, this could be money wasted. Your staff need to get the results to ensure you get the benefits you were looking for when signing up to the programme!

With our employee wellness programme at Empowered Fitness, we offer the following:

  • Group Personal Training sessions

  • Nutrition and lifestyle coaching

  • Dedicated Personal Trainer

  • Health & Fitness Assessments

  • Educational Seminars at your office

So many people don’t reach their goals as they don’t know the right exercise to do, they don’t know the right nutrition plan to follow, and they lose the motivation to see it through. All of these are common problems, but when you have a dedicated Personal Trainer and a team on hand to give expert advice and tools, great results happen.
